Aly’s Bakery – Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Aly’s Bakery. These Terms & Conditions apply to all orders and ensure a clear and fair process for both our team and our customers.

1. Orders

  • Personalised orders must be placed at least 5 days in advance

  • Standard cake orders must be placed 7 days before collection

  • Late orders, if accepted, carry a R70 late order fee

  • Cakes under R600 must be paid in full upfront

  • Bento and small cakes require full upfront payment

  • Prices are fixed and non-negotiable

  • Inspiration pictures are treated as references; exact duplication is not guaranteed

2. Payments

  • A 60% deposit is required to confirm an order

  • Deposits are non-refundable

  • The balance must be paid 1–2 days before collection/delivery

  • Payment must reflect before the order is released

  • Accepted payment methods: PayFast, EFT, online payments

  • No cash payments are accepted

3. Cancellations & Order Changes

  • Date changes must be requested before baking begins

  • Cancellations must be made at least 72 hours before collection for refund eligibility (minus admin fees)

  • If work has already begun or the cake has been baked, no refund will be issued

  • Changes to design, size, or decoration cannot be guaranteed once production begins

4. Collection & Delivery

  • Delivery fees are charged separately

  • Customers must ensure safe storage and handling after collection

  • Cakes are heat-sensitive and should be kept cool

  • Aly’s Bakery is not responsible for any damage that occurs after collection or during third-party transport

5. Complaints & Liability

  • All complaints must be submitted within 24 hours of collection/delivery

  • Photo evidence is required

  • Refunds will only be considered if Aly’s Bakery is genuinely at fault

  • Complaints made after the cake leaves the premises fall under the Refund & Returns Policy

  • Aly’s Bakery is not responsible for damage caused by customer handling, storage, heat, or transport

  • EFT refunds only, processed within 24 hours when approved

6. Refund & Returns Conditions

  • Cakes cannot be returned once they leave the bakery

  • Accepting the cake at collection confirms customer approval

  • A refund is only considered if the wrong cake or an unacceptable design is presented and the customer rejects it immediately before leaving

  • If rejected on the spot and left at the bakery, the customer may receive an 80% EFT refund

  • No refunds will be issued for:

    • Customer assumptions about size

    • Disputes raised after collection

    • Cakes returned later, tampered with, damaged, melted, or cut

    • Delivery and e-hailing issues outside our control

7. Allergies & Decorations

  • Some cakes may contain allergens (dairy, eggs, wheat, soy, nuts)

  • Decorative elements such as printed images, acrylic toppers, foam balls, or artificial flowers are not edible and must be removed

  • Aly’s Bakery is not responsible for any issues arising from improper handling of non-edible decorations

8. Agreement

Placing an order and making payment confirms that the customer:

  • Has read and understood these Terms & Conditions

  • Accepts the Refund & Returns Policy

  • Acknowledges responsibility for safe handling after collection or delivery
